Mahaia Basque Table Knife
Elegance and Multicultural Influence
The Mahaia basque table knife is a handcrafted model that embodies a subtle fusion of traditional basque craftsmanship and Japanese aesthetics. It stands out for its minimalist design, functionality, and balance, making it an ideal knife for everyday meals as well as more formal occasions.
A High-Performance Stainless Steel Blade
The Mahaia features a stainless steel blade of approximately 11 cm, designed to ensure an exceptional and durable sharpness, resistant to corrosion and suitable for various table cuts. Thanks to this precise blade, it allows for smooth and efficient slicing of meats, vegetables, and other culinary preparations.
Handle Made of Scarified Medlar Wood
The scarified medlar reveals the nobility of this dense and vibrant wood. The scarification, done by hand, creates a subtle relief that enhances the natural grain and gives each piece a unique character. Over time and with use, the wood develops a harmonious patina, reinforcing its authenticity and connection to traditional basque craftsmanship.
Fusion of Basque and Japanese Traditions
The Mahaia knife reflects the cross-inspiration between basque tradition and Japanese knife-making art, particularly through its clean and functional design. This multicultural approach gives it a refined aesthetic while providing remarkable cutting performance for a table knife.
Everyday and Versatile Use
Well-balanced and easy to use, the Mahaia appeals to both enthusiasts of elegant tableware and fans of authentic cutlery. It is perfectly suited for everyday use or for serving at the table during more elaborate meals.
Recommended Care
To preserve the shine of the rosewood handle and the quality of the blade, it is strongly recommended to wash the knife by hand and to avoid the dishwasher, which will prolong its durability and unique aesthetics.
