Malvasia Vision 2020 – macerated Istrian Malvasia

Malvasia Vision 2020 is a full, textured, and elegant interpretation of Istrian Malvasia. A shorter maceration emphasizes the varietal character, while thoughtful aging adds breadth, depth, and a long finish to the wine.

From the vineyard at Domačija Butul

The grapes come from sunny vineyards in Manžan, about 90 meters above sea level, right next to Domačija Butul. They were hand-harvested between September 10 and 16, 2020. The yield was carefully limited to about 1.5 kg of grapes per vine to ensure the fruit reached full ripeness and expression.

Short maceration and diverse aging

After a short maceration, the wine aged in a combination of glass demijohns, used barrique barrels, and steel containers. The demijohns and steel maintain freshness, while the used wood adds texture and a calm complexity to the wine without overshadowing the character of Malvasia.

In the glass

The aroma intertwines sweet root, honeycomb, dry Mediterranean herbs, and the ripe warmth of Malvasia. The taste is mineral, long, and balanced, with a gentle almond bitterness and elegant acidity. The wine has an alcohol content of 14.5%.

At the table

Malvasia Vision pairs beautifully with seafood, roasted vegetables, risottos, white meat, herb pasta, and medium-aged cheese. Due to its fullness and structure, it can also accompany somewhat richer dishes.

Serving

Serve slightly chilled and in a larger glass. After opening, allow it some time for the aromas in the glass to gradually unfold.
