Refošk Črno 2019

Refošk Črno 2019 was harvested in early October in a sunny southwestern position near Manžan. The vintage was very good for Refošk, so the grapes remained on the vine until full ripeness. Among the hand-harvested grapes were also slightly dried berries, which added more extract to the wine.

Fermentation took place with yeasts from the vineyard, and maceration lasted for 18 days. After pressing, the wine aged in an inox container on fine lees until the summer of 2020, without added sulfur.

The color is intensely ruby, almost black, with violet hues. The aroma features blackberry, blueberry, ripe cherry, and a gentle touch of wood. The taste is full, soft, and playful, with fruity freshness, pleasant tannins, and a medium-long finish. It pairs well with cured meats, red meat, grilled dishes, meat sauces, and also with pizza. The recommended serving temperature is 15-18 °C.
