Wild leek is a wild plant, harvested in Slovenian Istria from late autumn to late spring, when we happily mix it with wild asparagus and eggs. Freshly picked, we also add it to vegetable soups, and we combine blanched green leaves with cooked potatoes or homemade eggs in a salad. A rich source of fiber and minerals. It helps with metabolism, has a mild diuretic effect, and stimulates the secretion of gastric juices. It lowers blood sugar levels and aids kidney and bladder function. Harvested from the clean fields and meadows of Manžan.
