ACTION AND APPLICATION: Hibiscus tea is primarily used as a refreshing beverage. It has a slightly sour taste due to the high content of plant acids, which also makes it a very mild laxative. Due to its significant mucilage content, it is also used for colds and catarrh of the upper respiratory tract. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as for children under 12 years old.
PREPARATION: Pour 1 teaspoon (2.5 g) of finely chopped flower with 150 ml (1 cup) of boiling water. Let it steep covered for 5-10 minutes and then strain.
