Confiture Parisienne in collaboration with the Musée d'Orsay and the Grand Palais RMN. At the Musée d'Orsay, masterpieces no longer just hang on the walls. With Confiture Parisienne, they are spread on bread. Aix fits in a spoon. Cézanne hadn't thought of that. There are painters who travel. Cézanne, however, spent his life looking at the same mountain. The Sainte-Victoire, from the hills of Aix, under all skies, at all hours, more than eighty times in oil and watercolor. One can see obstinacy in that. We prefer to see fidelity. In Aix, we are also faithful to another thing: the calisson, this little almond and orange blossom shuttle that has been offered since the fifteenth century and is not up for debate. We have kept its spirit, not its form. Finely ground almonds make up 40% of the jar, with a hint of orange blossom that arrives later, like a scent of an open window. No chocolate, no palm oil, nothing to cover the almond. The paste is ivory, dense, a bit grainy, long on the palate, with this orange blossom that never shouts yet is present in every spoonful. On the label, Cézanne's mountain. In the jar, the sweetness of his city. Between the two, a painter who did everything to avoid being disturbed, and whom we respectfully disturb for breakfast. Also discover the rest of the Cézanne line: Apple and Orange Jelly, Pear Quince Jam, and the three combined in the Cézanne gift box. Jar 250 g Price/kg: 67.60 €
