Pupa 2025: a playful wine with a serious Istrian character

Pupa 2025 is a dry white macerated wine that combines the floral playfulness of yellow muscat with the freshness and structure of Istrian malvasia.

It is made from equal parts of Istrian malvasia and yellow muscat from the Parovelovo and Valeta vineyards. The grapes were in contact with the skins for five days. The short maceration added texture and character to the wine without overshadowing its aromatic, juicy nature.

Pupa is a completely dry wine with no residual sugar. Due to its pronounced aromatics and ripe fruit expression, it feels soft, friendly, and very drinkable.

In the glass

• Color: bright golden yellow with gentle warm hues.
• Aroma: muscat floral aromas, white flowers, ripe yellow fruit, grapes, and delicate herbal notes.
• Taste: dry, fruitfully vibrant, and nicely textured. Muscat brings aromaticity, while malvasia adds freshness, structure, and a longer finish.
• Finish: clean, aromatic, and pleasantly dry, with gentle fruity and herbal echoes.

With food

Pupa pairs particularly well with dishes that have a fresh Mediterranean character:

• grilled fish and smoked fish,
• dishes with rosemary, fennel, sage, and other distinctive herbs,
• roasted vegetables or grilled vegetables,
• herb risottos and pasta,
• young and medium-aged cheeses.

Butul's suggestion: grilled fish, olive oil, wild fennel, and a few drops of lemon.

Serving

For a fresher and livelier expression, serve it at 8–10 °C. At around 11–13 °C, additional floral, fruity, and herbal layers open up in a larger glass. Decanting is not necessary; you can simply open the bottle a few minutes before drinking.
