The Nagusi Shepherd's Knife
The Nagusi is the great shepherd. Thicker, sturdier, more assertive, it is the Basque artisanal knife in its most robust version.
Origins and Character
Nagusi means "the great, the chief" in Basque. True to the spirit of the traditional shepherd's knife, the Nagusi takes artisanal craftsmanship further: its handle is made of two Manech sheep horns glued together, giving it a unique thickness and strength within the TALAIA range.
This is the shepherd's knife for those who want a tool that feels substantial in the hand.
Features
— Blade: Carbon steel, 9 cm, sage leaf shape. Sharp, precise, faithful to Basque tradition.
— Handle: Double Manech sheep horn. Each horn is unique, light, flame-patterned, or dark. The 11 cm handle includes an engraved Basque cross.
— Finish: Two-rivet knife. Optional silver medal with a raised Basque cross, made by the Basque jeweler RODON from Biarritz.
Manufacturing
Each Nagusi is handmade in the TALAIA workshop in Anglet, in the Basque Country. Each piece is unique; the horn you receive will be in the same spirit as the one shown in the photo, with its own natural variations.

Dishwasher absolutely prohibited.
