Milan METELKA a. s. 

The production of liqueurs and spirits in the Antonín Metelka family began in 1935 in Vyškov, Southern Moravia. The main products were Režná, Rum, Griotka, herbal liqueur Praděd, fine bitter liqueur Wolga, Rosbašský liqueur, Liqueur de Chartreuse, a special herbal liqueur for hunters Hubertus, and other popular spirits and liqueurs of that time.

In 1940, their growing influence in the spirits market was suppressed by the onset of World War II and the introduction of alcohol rationing for domestic producers of alcoholic beverages. In 1946 to 1947, son Bohumil Metelka successfully completed his studies at the liqueur school and resumed production after his father.

However, the company's flourishing was involuntarily halted in 1948 when the communist party took political power, thus ending private enterprise in then Czechoslovakia.

After the fall of the totalitarian regime in 1989, Mr. Bohumil Metelka passed on his expertise in the field to his son Milan, who began the construction of the family distillery in Moravské Prusy at the end of 1991, thereby continuing the tradition of alcoholic beverage production that continues to this day. In 2015, the production facilities were moved to the premises of RUDOLF JELÍNEK in Vizovice. Milan METELKA a.s. also became part of the international group R. JELINEK GROUP SE.
