Classic style finger bowl, made of 18/10 stainless steel. The formal balance, essential dimensions, practicality of use, and elegance of steel make this bowl an object capable of making a difference even in the most refined situations. The history of the finger bowl has very distant roots, as noted by Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, a 19th-century connoisseur of etiquette, in his book The Physiology of Taste. Modern etiquette dictates that the finger bowl should be used solely for gently wetting the tips of the fingers or just the fingertips. The finger bowl is placed to the left of the plate. Donna Letizia recommends serving it on a fruit plate resting on a silver or crystal underplate or a delicate doily. Inside the bowl, a slice of lemon is usually placed to help degrease the fingers. You could use only water, or try adding suspended rose petals or violets, or cucumber-flavored water or bergamot water. Erasmus of Rotterdam recommended water scented with rosemary or chamomile. It is certain that the use of the finger bowl should not be limited to formal occasions, but it is also appreciated during pizza and especially after appetizers or the trendy finger foods, which often need to be eaten with hands. Just as the cooking tools of Serafino Zani arise from a deep understanding of culinary culture, so too are the serving items designed with the established rituals of eating and drinking together in various situations in mind. Serafino Zani, with the Seraphini line, offers items suitable for the laboriously prepared tables of special occasions, as well as for the simpler settings of everyday tables. Items that combine practicality of use, beauty of lines, quality, and finish of materials; items that reflect the company's philosophy, aimed at creating simple and authentic things, well-designed and constructed, destined to last over time. Bringing to the table a baking dish just taken out of the oven, serving a roast on a serving tray, pouring fine oil to dress vegetables or dishes, always having the right-sized container for various foods... The Seraphini series offers items that facilitate the gestures of daily serving, while at the same time enriching them, thanks to their refined and elegant design, and the use of mirror-polished steel. Steel that, in the Seraphini line, is paired with alder wood cutting boards, white porcelain baking dishes, glass carafes, and the copper and titanium coating of kettles and coffee makers, giving life to unique objects where form and function find a perfect balance. The package includes 1 finger bowl.
