It is the year 1923. The Jelínek brothers, Rudolf and Vladimír, sign a licensing agreement with the company J. Denis, H. Mounié & Co. This collaboration with the French firm founded in 1838 secures the Vizovice distillery the rights to produce, purchase, and sell cognac and wine distillate from Cognac. However, this unique collaboration primarily inspires the brothers to undertake a significant endeavor. Following the example of the renowned cognac producer, they allow plum brandy to age for the first time in oak barrels. The result is a noble plum brandy of golden color with an aroma similar to cognac and a harmoniously smooth taste of fruit with a woody undertone.

Just as the Jelínek brothers experimented with aging distillates more than a hundred years ago, you can experiment today with our creative gift set for making golden plum brandy. Delivering an entire oak barrel to you would be somewhat challenging. Therefore, we have processed several of our oak barrels so that you can make your own golden plum brandy even at home. Additionally, you can refine its taste and aroma by adding dried plums from our Vizovice orchards. The resulting plum brandy will surprise you with its very aromatic taste and aroma of dried plums.
