Many whiskey brands around the world start by producing gin or supplement their production with it, as it makes sense. The distillation stills you need are practically the same, as are the fermentation vessels and maturation tanks. The huge difference lies in the maturation time. Gin is quick money… you could almost say that you can offer it to your customers immediately after distillation.

We approached it differently; after we had a twenty-year-old whiskey in our offer, we produced the first gin under the GOLDCOCK brand. But it makes similar sense. When our fruit fermentation and distillation season ends, the juniper season follows, which usually lasts one and a half months. After that, there is a two-month whiskey distillation season. Both excellently fill part of the year when fruit is not available and our distillery would be idle.

Juniper has been distilled in our factory for over one hundred and twenty years. So we have the experience… Gin with its other botanicals has been produced at R.JELÍNEK since the seventies. Its production ended only in the late nineties when gin sales in the Czech Republic were dominated by gins from Great Britain.

The result is a gin that is primarily intended for drinking. In the best sense of the word, it is an uncomplicated gin that does not pretend to be anything else. Whether neat or in a G&T or other classic drinks, it should work great.
