Therefore, in \u003cstrong\u003e2003\u003c\/strong\u003e, we continued the fruit-growing tradition and \u003cstrong\u003estarted planting our own plum orchards on the southern slope of the Vizovice valley\u003c\/strong\u003e, in an area called Těchlov. After five years, we harvested the first crop of Vizovice plums and \u003cstrong\u003ebegan a new tradition – the production of a limited series of Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eToday, more than sixty hectares of land are planted with plums, and more are added each year. This way, we are returning part of the landscape to its original character while utilizing the local specific climatic conditions.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePlums\u003c\/strong\u003e are always \u003cstrong\u003eharvested by individual varieties\u003c\/strong\u003e and must be distilled in the same manner. After at least a year and a half of aging, we select one distillate together with members of the Friends of Jelínek's Plum Brandy Association, which we bottle as the anniversary, limited Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK. Since 2008, when we harvested the first virgin crop of twenty-five tons of plums from nine varieties, we also produce a golden variant of Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK every year. This is created by blending the best varieties of the given year and further ages on dried plums. These release a huge amount of aroma, flavor, and especially sweetness into the brandy, which can be felt in every sip.
