"Its story began back in the time when my ancestor and the father of the famous composer Gustav Mahler, Bernhard Mahler, obtained a license from the city hall in Jihlava to produce alcohol. It was the year 1861, and he began to fulfill his dream of producing the highest quality distillates.

It is an honor for me to continue his dream and legacy. Therefore, in 2011, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of Bernhard Mahler's distillery, I joined forces
with the traditional producer of slivovitz, RUDOLF JELÍNEK, and initiated preparations for this project. After thorough tasting, we chose a blend of the varieties Stanley, Presenta, and domestic plum. We mixed the individual slivovitzes, let this cuvée age for a quarter of a year, and then filled it into a total of five barrels, in which kosher slivovitz had also aged before. This year we are finally satisfied with both the aromatic and flavor profile, and because we would like to remember this year for reasons other than the global pandemic, we will launch exactly 1,861 bottles on the market. I am pleased that it worked out,
and this nine-year-old kosher slivovitz is so finely tuned that it can be compared with the best kosher productions in the world."
