Malvazija Pilj 2017 Magnum – amber malvasia for a special table

Malvazija Pilj 2017 Magnum comes from the hills of Manžan and is created in the spirit of minimal intervention and patient aging. The grapes come from low-yielding vines, and the magnum format is intended for slow opening of the wine and moments shared with a larger company.

Six days of maceration

After harvesting, the grapes were macerated on the skins for six days. The wine then aged for one year on fine lees and continued aging in used oak barrels.

In the glass

A deep amber color suggests a rich structure. The aroma intertwines ripe tropical fruit, fennel, almonds, gentle vanilla, and slightly nutty tones. The taste is full, calm, and long, with a distinct texture of macerated Istrian malvasia.

At the table

It pairs excellently with raw marinated fish, oysters, seafood, grilled pork, braised pork in darker sauces, roasted carrots, fermented cheese, and dishes with fennel. Serve at 12–15 °C.
