Refošk 2016 is a mature and deep wine from Domačija Butul. The base wine was created through two weeks of maceration and indigenous yeasts, and then aged for four years in used oak barrels. It was bottled directly, without residual sugar.

Four years of aging

Long aging in used oak barrels has given the refošk depth and complexity while preserving its dark fruity character. The alcohol content is 14.5% vol.

In the glass

The color is dark, almost black. The aroma intertwines tobacco, white chocolate, underbrush, graphite, dark fruit, and gentle wood tones. The taste is dry, full, and long, with ripe tannins and pronounced depth.

At the table

We recommend it with braised beef, red meat, game, dark sauces, aged cheese, mushroom dishes, and slow-cooked meals.
