The production of Borovička has a centuries-old tradition in Vizovice and is also inseparably linked to the history of distilling in Vizovice and the figures of Karel Singer and Zikmund Jelínek. The traditional production process, which preserves the continuous distillation as the basis for making Borovička, is still used today in its unchanged form. Only the technologies that contribute to making the juniper distillate even smoother and purer than before have been modernized, yet it still retains its characteristic rough essence.

The product name, Slovácká Borovička, may come as a surprise – it is produced by a traditional Wallachian manufacturer. It originated during the export successes of Rudolf Jelínek in the USA. At that time, Slovak Borovička was very popular and successful in the market during the 1930s. Rudolf Jelínek sought ways to create competition for this product, and thus he came up with the name Slovácká Borovička, which was practically indistinguishable from Slovak Borovička in English-speaking countries.

In addition to Slovácká Borovička Original, you can also taste Slovácká Borovička from the barrel, which has been aged for one year in oak barrels. This has given it not only a beautiful color but also a smoother taste reminiscent of brandy, while still retaining the earthy character and flavor of the juniper distillate.

In a limited edition, we have also prepared a set of three differently aged Borovičky, known as Slovácká Borovička limited edition 3x 0.2 liters, one aged for 12 months in an oak barrel that previously held bourbon, the second in a barrel that held Czech whisky Gold Cock, and the third in a barrel that held plum brandy. You thus have a unique opportunity to taste and compare the different aromas and flavors of this typical juniper distillate.
