Our strongest, 10% Baltic Porter from the The Leaking Barrel series is proof that lagers can also be strong, complex, and full of character. Baltic Porter is a historical style that developed in the 18th century when English porters were exported to the Baltic countries. The local breweries, due to the good, cold climate, replaced ale yeast with lager yeast, thus creating a new style of beer. Pelicon's Baltic Porter has matured for one year in wooden barrels and developed a rich profile of dark fruits, chocolate, and slight coffee notes. With its 10% alcohol, it is ideal for cooler evenings and discerning guests looking for something special. It pairs excellently with stronger dishes, smoked meats, and chocolate desserts. The other side of the coin features the gentle Ragabiru and the classic Superlager. You can read more about them here and here. The collection represents a selection of lagers crafted by brewer Matej Pelicon, which we offer in our assortment. If you are not familiar with them, this is a great opportunity to try them.
