Beer with three percent or less alcohol is considered light beer according to Slovenian regulations. However, achieving a beer with a lower alcohol content that is not watered down is not easy. Therefore, we set ourselves the goal of meeting all these standards. The challenge was how to satisfy the demanding taste buds of true beer lovers while complying with legislation and ultimately meeting the demands of the modern person. For more on why light beer is by no means cheap, read our blog: Why diluting beer with water is harmful? Relax was created, a light craft beer with a low alcohol content and still a full flavor that we expect from craft beer. Generously hopped with Relax and Enigma hops. The rich flavor of Relax is shaped not only by barley malts but also by oat and rye flakes. For the beer style, we chose the popular amber-colored pale ale, but in a smaller version - micro pale ale. The Relax hop was originally developed for use in relaxation teas. We have placed it in a new role in the major global trend of 'small beer'. What does it mean if beers are top or bottom fermented? Top fermentation is most often associated with ale-type beers. It is a method of alcoholic fermentation that occurs in beer when active yeast rises to the surface and forms a crown (a kind of yeast foam). It mainly involves the yeast Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, commonly referred to as ale yeast. Such yeasts prefer higher fermentation temperatures, approximately from 15 to 25 degrees. In contrast, bottom-fermenting yeasts are associated with lager-type beers. This fermentation occurs at the bottom of the vessel. It mainly involves the yeast Saccharomyces Pastorianus, or colloquially, lager yeast. Such yeasts prefer lower fermentation temperatures, approximately from 5 to 10 degrees. “The Minister of Health warns: Alcohol consumption can be harmful to health!”
