ACTION AND APPLICATION: Plantago is used for catarrh of the upper respiratory tract and for inflammation in the mouth and throat. In external use, it is used for mild inflammatory changes on the skin. In folk medicine, it is used to stop bleeding, for ulcers, blackheads, and burns. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as for children under 12 years old.
PREPARATION: 1.4 - 3 g (2 - 4 teaspoons) of crushed plant should be poured with 150 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, left covered for 10 minutes, and then strained. Drink one cup 3-4 times a day of the prepared tea. For external use, to prepare compresses or gargling, the same amount of the plant should be poured with 150 ml of cold water and left to stand for 1-2 hours with frequent stirring, then strained. The daily dose amounts to: 3 - 6 g.
