Are you tired of your dull colorless plastic window sills? Then you’ve come to the right place! We make custom window sills from sturdy oak wood. This allows you to widen your window sill and add a tasteful accent to your interior. You can order the oak window sill to size in both length and depth. The thickness is 16 mm.
Custom Work
The thickness of our oak boards is 16, 20, 24, or 28 mm. The choice is yours. Regarding the length of the boards: keep in mind that walls or niches are not always 100% straight, so it’s wise to order the board a few centimeters longer. That way, you’ll always be safe. Do you want a so-called 'ear' on your window sill? Then add a few extra centimeters to the length. You can customize it on-site.
Wider than 25 cm?
For a width of up to 25 cm, the window sill consists of one solid oak board. Do you want a wider window sill? Then we will glue an extra strip along the length. We do this expertly, beautifully following the wood grain, so it looks like one board.
Choose Your Finish
The finish is a matter of taste. You can choose an untreated board; this gives the most natural appearance, but be aware: your window sill will be sensitive to discoloration and stains. A transparent two-component varnish is a smart alternative: the board retains its natural appearance and is
optimally protected!
Installation
You can attach the window sill with mounting adhesive or wood glue. Simple, sturdy, and invisible. Count on about 5 mm for the glue layer.
Smart Facts About the Finish of Our Window Sills:
We deliver our oak boards untreated. Therefore, keep in mind that these untreated boards can discolor and are sensitive to rings or stains.
You can smartly prevent this by treating the board. We are happy to do this for you! The delivery time may be extended by a day. Here are our options:
- Colorless Matte Varnish: this varnish does not change the color and appearance of the board but provides reasonable protection against discoloration and stains or rings.
- Colorless 2-Component Varnish: this varnish does not change the color and appearance of the board and provides 100% protection against discoloration and stains or rings. Highly recommended for humid areas!
- Dark Matte Varnish: this varnish gives the board a deeper appearance; you can still see the grain structure.
- Black Matte Varnish: this varnish gives the board a rugged industrial look, with the advantage that you can still see the grain structure.
