Bozeto de Exopto

The Bozeto de Exopto, as its name indicates, is our first wine project in which we present the main lines of our range: a young, fresh, newly born wine, whose explosion of fruity aromas with mineral touches will allow the consumer to enjoy the fusion of the 3 dominant varieties of Rioja. A pleasure wine, easy to understand that will allow the first step into our product range.

Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja

Variety: 60% garnacha, 35% tempranillo, 5% graciano

Region and vineyards:

• In Alfaro (La Rioja) aged 40 to 80 years. Soil of pebbles and sand.
• Ábalos (La Rioja) aged 30 to 50 years. Soil of clay-limestone.

Harvest: Manual in 15 kg boxes

Aging: 70% in concrete tanks, 20% in French oak vats, and 10% in used barrels. 6 months of aging.

Tasting notes: Deep red with a bright layer. Aromas of red fruits (strawberry and ripe cherry) with mineral and floral touches. Sweet, raspberry and blueberries provide sweetness that contrasts with a pleasant acidity. Very elegant, fruity and long finish.

Pairing: Tapas, cold cuts, vegetable dishes, grilled meat, or any recipe with fresh tomato sauce.

Serving temperature: 16 ºC

Bodegas Exopto

Bodegas Exopto is a project founded in 2003 by Tom Puyaubert, with the aim of recovering and valuing old vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria and Monte Yerga. Based on a sustainable and environmentally respectful viticulture, our work philosophy aims to express the multitude of terroirs that make up the D.O.C Rioja. Returning to artisanal vine work to produce honest and authentic wines is the goal we pursue with passion and enthusiasm.

10 hectares in the towns of Alfaro and Aldeanueva de Ebro, with Mediterranean influence, sandy soils with the presence of pebbles. Ideal conditions for the development of old garnachas in goblet form.

12 hectares in the towns of Ábalos, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, and Baños de Ebro, with Atlantic influence, clay-limestone soils. Tempranillo, Malvasía, and Viura over 60 years old make up the vast majority of the vineyards in this area.

All our parcel wines come from vineyards cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment.

We work the land with animals, treatments are done artisanally, by hand, and we increasingly apply biodynamic concepts to fully express the character of each parcel.
