Okatsune 103 Pruning Shears

Okatsune 103 is the pure essence of pruning shears:

The blades of these Japanese shears (Sentei Basami) are uniquely forged from the finest IZUMO YASUGI steel and have a very high hardness on the Rockwell scale – between 60.0 and 61.0. Therefore, the blades remain sharp for a long time and allow for precise and clean cuts through wood without special effort. In addition to hardness, Okatsune combines a special flexibility, ensuring that the blade always fits perfectly against the counter-blade, even after prolonged use.

The blade is sharpened at two angles, allowing it to smoothly cut through wood without damaging the plant. Due to the unique concave shape of the blade, sap is diverted away during cutting, and the blades do not separate from each other. The V-shaped spring ensures an even distribution of load along the entire length of the spring, allowing for smooth closing.
