A classic distillate made from plums has been distilled in Wallachia since the mid-18th century. Thanks to favorable climatic conditions, plums have always thrived here, and their processing into mash has become a specialty of local masters, which we can say is an art passed down from generation to generation. This tradition has concentrated primarily in Vizovice, where true Jelínek slivovice has been produced for over one hundred twenty years through triple distillation. It is this method of distillation that accounts for the unique purity and smoothness of Jelínek's slivovice. The pits remain in the mash throughout the process, imparting a specific tannin flavor to the resulting distillate. The distillate is allowed to rest before being bottled, in which it reaches the customer as the Czech national drink without exaggeration.
The changes of 1989 did not go unnoticed in Vizovice at the RUDOLF JELÍNEK company either. The distillate from that pivotal year was successfully stored for aging, and over the years, the idea matured to use it as a specific reminder of the year in which the entire company underwent significant changes. Today, this slivovice is the oldest on the Czech market and simultaneously the oldest that our company offers. After the last pieces are sold, one chapter of history will close in our portfolio as well.
