5 Valles Arbequina Oil

The 5 Valles Arbequina oil is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Arnedo (La Rioja) with Denomination of Origin Rioja. It is the result of the skill of the Riojan producers and the adaptation to modern production and cultivation systems.

Acidity equal to or less than 0.80 grams per 100 grams. Impeccable taste and aroma.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Extra virgin is the only superior quality olive oil that has passed all necessary tests (laboratory analysis and the corresponding tasting in the official tasting panel) and is obtained only through mechanical processes.

It maintains excellence in its analysis and tasting (taste and aroma) with all the healthy properties that olive oil provides with its consumption.

The type of extra virgin olive oil is of superior quality. It can be consumed directly.

Trujal 5 Valles

The Trujal 5 Valles Cooperative Society was established as such on July 1, 1995.

Initially, the cold pressing system was chosen, responding to a marked idea of preserving the traditional way of making oil.

Cultivation and Harvesting

The olive tree is a slow-growing tree but has a long and productive life. The olives ripen during the summer, and their harvesting usually takes place at the end of autumn or the beginning of winter when the weather is mild. During this time, the fruit will change color from olive green to reddish and then to black.

The collection of olives is an activity that has changed very little over the centuries. Generally, it is done by hand or by shaking so that the olives fall onto the tarps placed at the foot of the olive trees. They are transported in boxes or trailers.

Once collected, they are taken to the mill where care is taken not to pile the olives too high to avoid heating and fermentation, as they should not be stored for long, no more than 24 hours.
