Some people enjoy sweet treats at Christmas, while others prefer meat with something sour to nibble on. This gift package aptly named Meaty and Sour is designed precisely for them. It includes two meat specialties, pickled sweet-sour garlic sticks, a sauce made from red plums, hearty crackling spread, a bottle of excellent Sylvan green wine, and a wooden serving board made from fruit trees. All beautifully packaged in a lovely Christmas box crafted by a young artist.
Crackling Spread - a unique bacon delicacy that combines the taste of roasted smoked bacon, onions, garlic, and spices with a hint of nut paste. Its pronounced sweet-salty flavor with a slightly spicy finish is perfect for warm toasts, mini burgers, or with roasted vegetables and cheeses.
Garlic Sticks - crispy shoots of garlic marinated in a sweet-sour, mildly spicy brine. They have a crunchy texture and a delicate garlic flavor, making them a great addition to cold cuts, tartares, salads, and roasted meats.
Red Plum Sauce - an aromatic sauce made from red plums, fresh herbs, and spices inspired by the Georgian Tkemali sauce. Its strong herbal and spicy flavor pairs wonderfully with a wide range of meats, from lighter poultry to heavier red meats. It can also be used with fish, mushrooms, or roasted vegetables.
Crackling Chocolate - a spread made from smoked cracklings with roasted apples, black garlic, and dried plums in wine. It has layered flavors from smoky cracklings to sweet-sour fruity notes and is perfect for spreading on toasted baguette or pairing with pickled vegetables.
Baked Beef Pâté - a hearty coarse pâté made from matured Aberdeen Angus beef, pork belly, and a splash of red wine. It has a distinctly meaty, spicy flavor and is best enjoyed on a crispy toasted baguette topped with a slice of walnut or wine jelly.
