Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK
The climate of the Wallachian region has favored plums and their cultivation for centuries. Therefore, we established our own plum orchards on the southern slope of the Vizovice valley in the area called Těchlov in 2003, continuing the tradition of fruit growing. After five years, we harvested the first crop of Vizovice plums and began a new tradition – the production of a limited series of Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK.
We always harvest the plums by individual varieties and must distill them in the same way. After at least a year and a half of aging, we select one distillate together with members of the Friends of Jelínek's Plum Brandy Association, which we bottle as the anniversary, limited Vizovice Plum Brandy R. JELÍNEK.
Presenta from the 2018 vintage is already the tenth single-variety plum brandy from the own orchards of R. JELÍNEK.
The Presenta variety was bred in Germany in the 1980s. It is created by crossing the Ortenauer variety (also known as Borsum in Northern Germany) and President. The fruits are rather small, round, but with a noticeable narrowing and quite juicy. The tree grows moderately vigorous with a higher regular crown. It is usually harvested in the first decade of October. In 2018, we achieved a record harvest, and thanks to the warm summer, the fruit had excellent sugar content.
