Slovenian Istria has always been known for its Mediterranean climate, which allows us to gather fresh garden and wild plants throughout the year.
Snow and frost rarely touch us; it is true that they reduce our yield, but what we produce is therefore much more valuable. The Mediterranean way of eating and living, which UNESCO has protected as intangible cultural heritage, is one of the best in the world. Statistically, our part of Slovenia has the lowest rate of cardiovascular diseases. Olive oil plays the most important role here, as do crops, herbs, and wild herbs. Since around the year 2000, we have been striving to pass on our knowledge and experience at our homestead. We are a didactic farm and prepare thematic workshops both locally
and globally. This year's series of workshops will focus on various topics. We will show you some of our little secrets on how to utilize all parts of the food we produce. In the kitchen, we strive to have as little waste as possible, as we know how difficult it is to produce food. With a larger yield, it is right to save some for the coming months when we do not always have everything in stock. The workshops are conducted in Slovenian, English, or Italian. The workshop will take place if at least 5 people are registered. If no specific location is mentioned,
the workshops will be held at Domačija Butul, Manžan 10d, 6000 Koper.
