The Galician squid is a cephalopod that does not have the value it should have because it is often confused with the Patagonian squid, but they are not related at all.
The Galician squid is caught daily in our beloved Rias Baixas during the night, and by early afternoon, it is already auctioned at the fish market in O Grove and Cambados, which makes its freshness give it a unique flavor. Additionally, the Galician squid from the Rias Baixas has a very characteristic color as it is a deep purple, which changes upon contact with hands when it is still freshly caught.
This squid is ideal for making various recipes as it is not large in size, so we can prepare it with vegetables, sautéed, fried, in rice...
Each half kilo of Galician squid contains between 10-18 units.
If you have questions about how to clean the squid, click on this Button and we will show you a video on how to do it.
