Žufánek Plum Brandy is a noble fine fruit distillate with a characteristic taste and aroma. It is produced in limited quantities from ripe fruit with precisely defined proportions of individual varieties, ensuring the originality of truly good Slovak plum brandy.
All the fruit used to produce Žufánek Plum Brandy comes from our own orchards within an organic farming system, located in the protected landscape area of the White Carpathians.
Due to the size of the orchards, we have a total of 8 varieties of plums that ripen from July to September. The earliest variety is Čačanská and the latest are Stanley and Anna Späth.
Each variety is fermented separately, distilled separately, but in the cellar, we blend them together and let them mature for 8 to 12 months in stainless steel tanks. This results in a unique cuvée with no competition in taste and aroma.
Our recommended serving and storage temperature is between 10 and 18 °C. At temperatures below approximately 7 °C, there may be a slight cloudiness due to the precipitation of aromatic oils. There is no reason to chill our distillates or even freeze them. We actually drink it for those amazing and laboriously obtained aromatic oils. Otherwise, it would taste like flavored vodka.
