Artuke, Wineries and Vineyards
Artuke is a family winery owned by the Miguel Blanco family and located in the town of Baños de Ebro. It has 17 hectares of vineyard in Rioja Alavesa, from which they produce wines with a marked personality. Inheriting the tradition of their ancestors, Roberto decided to build the current winery in 1985, equipping it with the necessary technology and facilities to continue producing their wines and meet the growing demand. Today, it is his sons Arturo and Kike who are at the helm of the winery.
The land
22 hectares of their own vineyard spread over 32 plots between the towns of Baños de Ebro and Ábalos make the project one of the smallest and most cared for in the area. The climatic differences, altitude, and soil types among them enrich and provide a distinguishing nuance to each wine, reinforced by a bush vine planting system and manual harvesting of the fruit in small containers.
At Artuke, they practice environmentally friendly viticulture, applying biodynamic guidelines to achieve the greatest expression of the terroir. In recent years, the winery's goal has been and is the search for and recovery of abandoned vineyards and soils with character.
