The boletus are shipped in a special box for cold transport. Morphology of Boletus The boletus edulis is the largest and heaviest boletus. Its cap is initially spherical, then convex and flattened, with a slightly whitish edge. It has a smooth cuticle, a uniform light brown, hazelnut, pumpkin, or reddish-brown color. When pressed with a finger, it recovers its imprint. Its tubes are white, which turn yellow-green as they age. It has a robust, thick stem, white or light brown in color, with a fine reticulation at the top. Its flesh is an immutable white color, with olive-green spore print and yellowish spores.
