Familia Valdelana Blanco dry wine from Bodegas Valdelana
Variety: 50% Malvasía, 50% Viura. Grapes suited to dry climates, poor soils, and highly sensitive to humidity. Medium-sized, spherical clusters that turn reddish when ripe.
Vineyard: over 35 years old. Soil, clay-limestone.
Production:
Under the guidance of Judit, the first woman in the family trained in oenology, a different profile has been created, a new vision of white Rioja, the Malvasía Valdelana. Harvested in the second week of September. Cold maceration, fermentation under controlled temperature for two weeks. It is aged for three months on its fine lees, protecting it from oxidation, adding volume and complexity.
Tasting:
- VISUAL PHASE: Pale yellow with greenish reflections.
- OLFACTORY PHASE: Very intense, tropical fruit, passion fruit, mango. Hints of stone fruit, apricot, peach, a mix of white fruits with hints of fennel.
- TASTING PHASE: Broad, silky, and fresh, with balanced acidity. Aftertaste with mineral complexity and white flowers.
Pairing: Pairs excellently with appetizers, assorted tapas, rice dishes, pasta, white meats, and fish.
Bodegas Valdelana
Awarded for the second time as the best Winery in Art and Culture, Bodegas Valdelana is located in Elciego, the cradle of Rioja wine. A village of just over 1000 inhabitants situated between the cities of Logroño and Vitoria, in the area known as Rioja Alavesa.
The grapes
From our family vineyards and manually selected, we have different grape varieties, such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Graciano, Malvasía, and Viura.
The barrels
Selected from the most remote French forests, we have barrels made of French Allier oak, American oak, and Russian oak, where our wines rest peacefully in absolute tranquility and harmony.

From Portugal, we select corks from the best cork oaks. Corks that ensure our wines rest in peace.
