ACTION AND APPLICATION: Helps in healing and preventing gastric and duodenal ulcers; prevents spasms of smooth muscles in the digestive and respiratory systems, promotes expectoration and secretion of mucus. The plant is used for catarrh and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract as well as for inflammatory processes in the digestive system. The plant should not be used for longer than 4-6 weeks and certainly not in larger quantities due to possible unwanted side effects. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 12 years of age.
PREPARATION: Pour 1-1.5 g (1/2 teaspoon) of well-ground plant with 150 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, let it steep covered for 10-15 minutes, and then strain. Drink 2-3 cups of tea prepared this way. Do not exceed the daily dose of 3 g.
