From the Pays Basque, Éric Burel Etchegoin founded TALAIA to create handcrafted knives and walking sticks that combine tradition and innovation.

Each piece is handcrafted using high-quality materials, in keeping with a deeply rooted way of life.

TALAIA, founded by Basque cutler Éric Burel Etchegoin, draws inspiration from the history and identity of the Pays Basque to offer unique handcrafted creations. After undergoing a career change marked by personal trials, Éric devoted himself to craftsmanship, training in the working of steel and fine materials in a local workshop.

Today, TALAIA offers a range of Basque knives (folding, table and kitchen knives) and walking sticks/makilas, combining ancestral know-how with contemporary touches. The use of local woods, Manech horn and carbon steel reflects a commitment to sustainable and authentic materials.
