History
La Pureza Fish Preserves was founded in 1924 by Vicente Docanto Martínez, who came from a family closely linked to the canning industry. Later, the company passed into the hands of his son Jesús Manuel Docanto Abella. In 1994, the company Conservas de pescados La Pureza, S.L. was established, formed by the Docanto Bouzamayor brothers, sons of Jesús Manuel, faithful descendants of an artisanal industry. The Docanto and Abella families have always been closely tied to the canning history of this region of Ortegal.
Where are we?
We are located in Cariño, a fishing port with a long canning tradition situated at Cape Ortegal.
The history of Cariño reveals that the canning industry dates back to the late 18th century, leading to an activity that flourished in the 19th and 20th centuries, to the point that in the 1960s, there were twenty canning factories in the town when its population barely reached 5,000 inhabitants.
Due to its privileged coastal location, at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea, raw materials for its factories of optimal freshness and quality arrived in ships to Cariño, which expert hands, almost always female, transformed into exquisite preserves and salted products. This artisanal spirit is what La Pureza advocates and aims for today.

The Association of Sommeliers of Galicia, Gallaecia, has awarded Jesús Manuel Docanto the distinction of distinguished artisan 2004, in recognition of the great quality of La Pureza preserves.

You can choose home delivery or a collection point from among nearly 10,000 Pickup points and 60 DPD agencies in France. If you are absent, the package is left at a collection point and remains there for 9 days.
