All herbs undergo distillation. The absinthe is not colored here by macerating secondary herbs. This makes it clear, stable, and flavor-accurate. This approach stems from the practices during the prohibition era in Switzerland, when it was safer to hide a bottle with a clear liquid than a green one.
Switzerland is the cradle of absinthe. The blanche style, or la bleue, is now considered the reference form of traditional absinthe with lower alcohol content. Amave has 53 percent alcohol. It offers intensity but remains drinkable and clear.
Dilute at least 1 to 1 with very cold water. The ideal ratio is 1:2 to 1:3. The aroma will open up and the texture will round out.
