The red mullet is a Galician fish that belongs to the family of Mullet (Perciformes). It is a fish that is difficult to find, as it can be found at depths of 50 to 100 meters, except during the spawning season when it approaches shallow waters. It is not a fish that reaches a large size, although it can weigh up to 1 kg. It is known as Galician red mullet due to its characteristic color between pink and red, reminiscent of salmon. A curiosity about this fish is that initially when caught it is brown and only adapts that reddish color when scaled.
