Founded in 1984 in Estremoz, SEL – Salsicharia Estremocense began as a small family-run business and has grown into one of Portugal’s leading producers of traditional Alentejo cured meats.

Today, SEL produces a wide range of cured meats, Porco Preto (Iberian Black Pork) products, sliced charcuterie, and the renowned Varanegra Ham, serving customers across several international markets. With a strong focus on sustainability, food safety, and continuous improvement, SEL remains dedicated to preserving the true flavor and heritage of Alentejo craftsmanship, bringing the authenticity of Portuguese gastronomy to consumers and professionals around the globe.
