The Kmetija Žitnik is located in Starošinci, where the family has been leading organic spelt production with great dedication for more than a decade. Since 2012, Robert, Rosmarie and their son Blaž have been cultivating the land without the use of pesticides and artificial fertilizers, and have been producing high-quality spelt on it. All products – from freshly milled flour, spelt bread, cookies and pasta to pumpkin oil and roasted seeds – are created on the spot, with health, nature and tradition in mind. On the farm, they combine a modern approach with the values of the past, and also offer visitors tastings and an authentic experience of rural life. Their work is based on sustainability, respect for nature and care for quality food that comes directly from their own fields.
