Mini Cooked Ham (Hock): The Comfort of Galician Tradition
We present our Cooked Pork Hock, affectionately called "Mini Ham" due to its format and use in tapas. This product has been made with maximum convenience in mind: unlike traditional cured ham, it does not require soaking or long hours of cooking. It arrives at your home ready to slice and serve.
We use selected Galician pork hocks. These are slowly cooked until the meat easily separates, preserving all its juiciness and a delicate, mildly salty flavor. It is a simple and quick way to bring the authentic taste of Galician cooked meat to your table, ideal for impromptu appetizers or as a base for traditional dishes.
✨ Quality Guarantee: Tenderness and Maximum Convenience
Our Mini Cooked Ham stands out for:
- Ready to Eat: This is the great advantage. Save the soaking time (48h) and hours of cooking, as the piece is at its optimal tenderness.
- Tender and Juicy Meat: The slow cooking process guarantees soft meat that falls apart, with just the right layer of fat that adds richness and flavor.
- Total Versatility: It can be consumed both cold (for sandwiches or tapas) and hot (in stews or as a main dish).
🧑🍳 Cooking Tips: Cold or Hot, Always Delicious
This cooked hock is your perfect ally in the kitchen, for its speed and flavor:
- Cold (Quick Tapas): Remove the "Mini Ham" from the packaging, slice it very thin (without heating), and serve it on rustic bread with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
- Classic Galician Ham (Hot): Cut the meat into thick slices. Lightly steam or microwave to heat. Serve it over boiled potatoes (cachelos), generously sprinkle with Pimentón de la Vera (sweet or spicy), and drizzle with a good splash of olive oil.
- For Stews and Broths: Chopped, it quickly enriches any broth, Galician stew, or potage, adding meaty flavor without the need for additional cooking.
📦 Storage and Shipping
- Presentation: Cooked product vacuum packed.
- Storage: As it is a cooked product, it should be kept refrigerated at a temperature below 7∘C.
- Once Opened: The piece should be tightly wrapped (in aluminum foil or film) and consumed within 4 days to ensure maximum quality and juiciness. If you wish to keep it longer, you can slice the leftovers and freeze them in suitable bags.
